The DMA Future Innovators Award

The DMA is pleased to announce the introduction of a brand new award, The DMA Future Innovators Award, at DMA2010, in San Francisco, October 9-14, 2010. This award recognizes the innovative advances being made in the field of marketing. The award will be presented annually to suppliers of new products or services who are exhibiting at the event. Participants will be chosen by a panel of judges who feel the nominees have influenced and improved the marketing industry in the previous 12 months.

The Award

The 2010 Award will be a ‘collection of recognitions’, rather than rewarding a single winner. In order to create buzz and excitement about the new award, 8-10 awards will be presented to third-party suppliers that Judges decide have produced innovative solutions for the marketing community. In the first year, these awards will recognize outstanding achievements and will not be confined to individual category winners; each award will have the same ‘weighting’, with no overall winner.

The Criteria

  1. How innovative is the product or service? (Is it completely new, an exciting advance on previous technology, or even a fresh way of looking at an existing solution?)
  2. What is the impact of the product or service on the end user - whether the end user is a marketer or a supplier - has it helped the end user to improve their efficiency (Please quantify, if data are available)?
  3. How has the product or service made a difference to the marketing community at large? (Has it influenced the way the marketing industry thinks, has it made it more effective?)

Recognition

A banner or rosette will be placed on the winner’s stand for the remainder of the conference to advertise the award for next year, provide recognition to the winner and raise the profile of the award.
Nomination forms and deadlines for this award will be posted in February.
